The Town of Whitby has many highly ranked educational options.
The Durham District School Board, with headquarters in Whitby, provides public education. Whitby offers twenty-four elementary schools and five secondary schools.
The Durham Catholic District School Board provides the Catholic education programs. There are twelve Catholic elementary schools and two secondary schools in Whitby.
Whitby also offers a French Language School Board. There is one elementary school and one secondary school, which serve all of Durham Region.
Whitby’s private school for girls, Trafalgar Castle, provides university preparatory programs for grades 5 through 12. Whitby also has special needs schools, a community college and a skills training centre.
